The Akire of Ikire land in Irewole local government area of Osun State, Oba Olatunde Falabi, has passed away.
The announcement of his death was made on Monday by the All Progressives Congress chapter in Irewole local government through its official social media page.
According to the statement, the traditional ruler died on Saturday, February 28, 2026. No further details were provided regarding the circumstances surrounding his death.

Part of the statement read, “This is to formally announce the passing of our dear Kabiyesi, Oba Olatunde Falabi, Akire of Ikire land last Saturday, February 28, 2026. May his soul rest in peace.”

Oba Falabi was the traditional ruler of Ikire, a prominent town in Irewole local government area, and held the revered title of Akire during his reign.
The revered traditional ruler was also a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).
