Apple has launched its highly anticipated iPhone 17 series, featuring a slimmer build, sharper cameras, and stronger battery performance.
The new devices will begin shipping globally later this month.
The lineup consists of four models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Prices are expected to start at around $799, approximately ₦1.3 million in Nigeria, depending on model and storage size.

The iPhone 17 Air has been introduced as the slimmest iPhone ever, measuring just 5.5mm thick.
“This is our thinnest and lightest iPhone to date,” Apple stated.
For the first time, all iPhone 17 models are being manufactured in India, in partnership with Foxconn and Tata. Industry analysts say this marks a significant shift in Apple’s production strategy.
Each model features a 120Hz OLED display, designed to make scrolling, gaming, and video playback smoother.
Apple has said the new display technology will deliver “the most immersive viewing experience yet.”
The front camera has been upgraded to 24 megapixels, enabling clearer selfies and improved video calls.
According to Apple, the upgrade is aimed at meeting the growing demand for high-quality mobile content creation.
The Pro models will include a redesigned horizontal camera bar and the ability to record in 8K video.
These models also offer up to 8x zoom, which Apple described as “professional-level mobile photography.”
The iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature a 5,000mAh battery, the largest ever fitted into an iPhone. Apple said the device is intended to support “all-day performance for power users.”
In a material change, Apple has chosen aluminium frames for the Pro models instead of titanium.
The company explained that aluminium helps to keep the phones both lighter and cooler during heavy use.
The iPhone 17 and Air are powered by the new A19 chip, while the Pro versions will run on the A19 Pro processor. Apple claims the new chips offer better speed and energy efficiency.
The ‘Plus’ model has been removed from this year’s lineup. Instead, the iPhone 17 Air has been introduced to serve as a middle option between the regular and Pro models.
New colour options, including purple and green, have also been added. Apple said these choices were designed to “reflect personal style and creativity.”
