An 80-year-old Colombian national, Quesada Vanegas Ricardo Alfonso, was discovered dead in his hotel room at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Festac Town, Lagos.
The incident occurred on May 1, 2925, withAlfonso’s lifeless body found at approximately 3:45 p.m. in Room C85, situated on the 8th floor of the hotel.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the report in a statement released to journalists on Saturday.
“Following a distress call, officers including homicide detectives were immediately dispatched to the location,” Hundeyin said.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Alfonso had been residing at the hotel for over four months prior to his death.
According to police sources, no visible signs of violence or foul play were observed on the body at the time of discovery.
The corpse has since been moved to the morgue at Mainland General Hospital in Yaba, where it is being preserved for autopsy.
A coroner’s inquest has been opened to determine the cause of death, alongside other legal and medical procedures.
As part of the ongoing investigation, some members of the hotel management were temporarily detained for failing to maintain adequate guest records.
“They were invited for questioning and later released after providing statements to assist with the investigation,” Hundeyin added.
The Lagos State Police Command assured the public that all necessary efforts are being made to establish the full circumstances surrounding Alfonso’s death.
The Command also reiterated its commitment to upholding safety standards in hospitality establishments across the state.
