Two suspected robbers have been arrested by the Ikirun Joint Task (Security) Force, IKJTF, for allegedly stealing pumping machines at a private farm in Ikirun, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State.
The arrest, which took place on Thursday, was confirmed by the leadership of the IKJTF, a local security outfit established to support conventional law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace and order in the community.
The suspects were apprehended after they reportedly invaded a private farm and carted away pumping machines used for irrigation purposes. They were later intercepted by IKJTF operatives during a routine patrol around the area.
According to the task force, the operation was carried out in collaboration with the police and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.

The arrest, they said, was part of the ongoing efforts to curb rising incidents of theft and vandalism in the community.
The ring leader, who identified himself as Uwaisu, confessed after his arrest that he came to Ikirun from Kebbi State, in the northwestern part of the country.
However, he failed to explain his mission in the town.
“We were alerted to suspicious movements around the farm area and quickly mobilised our team,” a member of the task force said.
“The suspects were caught in possession of stolen pumping machines, which they could not account for.”
The task force added that the suspects were initially taken into custody for interrogation before being transferred to the appropriate authorities for further action.
“The suspects have made some confessions, and we have informed the Divisional Police Officer, Ikirun Division, for proper investigation,” the source stated.
As of the time of filing this report, the suspects were being prepared for handover to the police for further investigation and possible prosecution in accordance with the law.
The IKJTF reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of residents, urging members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities within the community.
