The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, has decorated its newly appointed Deputy State Commander and two Deputy Corps Commanders.
The event was held at the State Headquarters, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, on Monday, September 22, 2025.
A statement issued by the State Commander of the Corps, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, and signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Adegunwa Adegbuyi, confirmed the ceremony.
According to the statement, the event was attended by dignitaries including the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Abdulganiyu Hamzat, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, AIG Olusola Subair (Rtd.), represented by Biyi Odubote.

Other attendees included representatives from sister agencies and civil organisations.
The decorations were carried out under the authority of the Coordinating Ministry and the State Commander, in the presence of senior officers of the Corps.
In his address, Commander Ganzallo urged the officers to remain dedicated. He said, “Your previous achievements and commitment in the corps speaks for you. This elevation is not achieved by chance but hard work. To which much is given, much is expected.”
He further expressed gratitude to the state government for its continued support, particularly in the provision of equipment and facilities for the Corps.

The officers decorated were DCC Moruf Kolawole Yusuf, appointed Deputy State Commander, DCC Adedamola Adesina AbdulAkeem, Deputy Commander, Operations, and DCC Odukoya Oluyemi Ijaoba, Deputy Commander, Intelligence and Investigations.
Delivering a goodwill message, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, represented by Dr. Akinlesi, commended the officers.
He stated, “You are now entrusted with greater authority and in equal measure, greater accountability will be required from you.”
He added, “You are expected to bring to bear, your wealth of experience, leadership acumen and professionalism in discharging your duties for the progress of the corps and the security of our dear state.”
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, AIG Subair (Rtd.), represented by Odubote, highlighted the importance of the So-Safe Corps in Ogun State.
He said promotions are competitive and urged officers to continue working hard despite limited opportunities for advancement.
“Promotion is a pyramid, as you go higher, the space become narrow, therefore, even when every officer is performing, not all will be promoted because of the constraint of space,” he noted.
At the ceremony, the Commissioner supervised the decoration of the three senior officers and presented them with Letters of Appointment.
Speaking on behalf of the promoted officers, Deputy State Commander Yusuf expressed appreciation to the State Commander.
He pledged that the officers would uphold the standards of the Corps and not relent in their duties.
Additionally, the State Commander decorated Assistant Commander Adegbuyi as Director of Information and Public Relations, and Assistant Commander Nurudeen Muibi as Deputy Director, Intelligence and Investigation.
The event concluded with a reaffirmation of the Corps’ commitment to security and social orientation across Ogun State.
