The Osun State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Agbor Obim, has urged Corps Members to uphold the ideals of patriotism, integrity, and selfless service as they proceed to their various, PPAs, across the state.
He gave the charge while presiding over the low-key closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course held on Tuesday at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede.
In his address, Agbor commended the Corps Members for their discipline, resilience, and dedication throughout the three-week orientation exercise.
He described them as ambassadors of unity and progress, emphasising that the lessons learned from camp activities would serve as a solid foundation for their service year.

“The Orientation Course is the bedrock of the NYSC Scheme. It is designed to instil in you the values of selfless service, patriotism, teamwork, and accountability. As you move into your host communities, let these principles guide your actions,” he said.
Agbor advised the Corps Members to integrate peacefully into their host communities, respect cultural values, and actively engage in community development initiatives that promote unity and growth.
He reminded them that lectures and sensitisation sessions on security, entrepreneurship, and health awareness were practical guides to life during and after service.
The State Coordinator expressed appreciation to Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke for his continuous support to the NYSC Scheme.
He also acknowledged the cooperation of security agencies, government ministries, corps employers, traditional leaders, and other stakeholders who contributed to the success of the Orientation Course.
He praised Camp Officials and collaborating agencies for their hard work and commitment, noting that the success of the programme reflected their collective dedication to the ideals of the Scheme.
Highlighting the importance of the Community Development Service, CDS, he urged Corps Members to identify community needs and execute impactful projects that would leave lasting legacies.
Concluding his remarks, Agbor, exercising the powers delegated to him by the Director-General, officially declared the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course closed.
He prayed for the Corps Members’ safety and wished them a productive and fulfilling service year.
As part of their contribution to camp development, the Corps Camp Directors donated a new sash and a display board for the camp’s rules and regulations.
They also presented framed portraits to the State Coordinator, Camp Director, and Camp Commandant, a gesture warmly appreciated by camp officials.
Additionally, Corps Member Gilbert Ubong presented a hand-drawn sketch of the Camp Director during the ceremony.
The artwork, received with applause, symbolised the creative spirit of the Corps Members.
In recognition of their dedication and outstanding performance, selected Camp Officials and collaborating agencies received commendation letters for exemplary service throughout the Orientation Course.
Award recipients included Mr Kazeem Aderibigbe, Head of SERVICOM; Ayorinde Bunmi, member of the Sanitation Committee; Okeyemi Taiye, member of the Kitchen Committee; Alake Favour, Head of Man ‘O’ War; MWO Nelson, the Camp RSM; and the representative of the Hospital Management Board Team.
The ceremony ended on a colourful note as the parade team gave a final salute, symbolising the end of a memorable three-week exercise marked by discipl
ine, learning, and unity.
