Officers of the Ogun So-Safe Corps, have apprehended a 26-year-old man, Abdulrasheed Ibrahim, for alleged burglary and theft of electrical and aluminium materials.
This development was confirmed in an official statement issued by the Corps Commander, Dr Soji Ganzallo, and signed by Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, the Director of Information and Public Relations.
The suspect was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday, 12th June 2025, around 2:00 a.m. by officers attached to the Iyesi Area Command during a routine patrol of the area.
According to the statement, the suspect was found in possession of aluminium and electrical wires and was believed to be a scavenger.

He was unable to provide a credible explanation for having the items in his possession.
“After a professional and coordinated assessment, the suspect was questioned on how he came into possession of the items,” said Commander Ganzallo.
“He failed to provide a satisfactory explanation and could not prove ownership.”
During initial interrogation, Ibrahim confessed to vandalising a residential property situated behind the Winners Chapel fence and admitted he had been previously arrested four times for similar offences.
“The suspect resides at Obasanjo Power Line,” the statement added.
“He has a record of repeated involvement in burglary and theft-related activities.”
Commander Ganzallo disclosed that the recovered items and the suspect have been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force at Onipanu Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution.
He praised the swift response of the officers involved and reiterated the Corps’ commitment to maintaining safety and order across Ogun State.
“The relative peace and security currently being enjoyed across the state will not be compromised,” Ganzallo assured.
“We remain vigilant and will continue to act swiftly against criminal elements.”
The Corps called on members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
