Three male labourers have been found dead in their apartment on Olateju Street in the Lekki Phase One area of Lagos State.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday, threw the community into panic as residents woke to the sight of the lifeless victims.
It was learnt that the deceased, who are yet to be identified, lived together in a makeshift room erected within the premises of a building on the street.
Reports indicated that the men earned their living through casual labour and errands for residents in the neighbourhood.

A resident, identified simply as Alfred, said the attack happened while the victims were asleep in their room.
“The boys lived in a makeshift structure erected on the premises of a building on the street. We knew them to be labourers who also ran errands for people,” he said.
Alfred added that their bodies were discovered after another worker in the area raised the alarm.
“When people rushed there, the three of them were found lying in a pool of blood with machete cuts all over their bodies. We were told the assailants dragged them out of the room before killing them,” he explained.
Another resident, who is a member of the Lekki Estate Residents Association, confirmed that the police were immediately invited to the scene.
He noted that the community was unsettled by the attack, saying, “We are now more cautious with the security situation around here. Security measures are also being stepped up as I speak to you.”
As of Tuesday, the motive for the killing remained unclear.
Some residents speculated that the attack could be linked to cult clashes or disputes involving the victims, though this had not been confirmed.
Efforts to reach the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, were unsuccessful, as calls to his phone were not answered.
A text message sent to him had also not been replied to at the time of filing this report.
The killing comes weeks after a skit maker identified simply as Austin was murdered in a similar fashion in the Lakowe community of Ibeju-Lekki.
In that case, suspected cultists reportedly dragged him out of his home and hacked him to death in the early hours of the day.
